These terms are an agreement between you and Camus LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), the operator of Sterilize.io. They cover our website, study tools, and related services (the "Service"). By accepting these terms when creating an account, you agree to follow them. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the account-based Service.
1. Your account
You must be legally able to enter into this agreement under the laws that apply to you. Provide accurate account information, keep it up to date, and protect your sign-in credentials. Accounts are for individual use; do not share, sell, or transfer your account.
You are responsible for your use of the Service. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us promptly. You are not automatically responsible for activity caused by a security failure on our part.
2. Independent educational service
Sterilize.io provides independent preparation for the Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) exam. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA). References to third-party names and trademarks identify their respective organizations and credentials.
Study materials, practice questions, explanations, flashcards, and scenarios are educational resources. They are not official exam questions, clinical advice, employer training approval, or instructions for carrying out a real procedure. For workplace decisions, follow current manufacturer instructions for use, applicable standards, facility policies, and qualified supervisor guidance.
Content may contain errors or become outdated. Practice scores, progress indicators, and recommendations describe activity in the Service; they do not establish competence or predict a passing result. We do not guarantee exam eligibility, certification, employment, or any particular outcome. HSPA controls its eligibility requirements, exam policies, and certification decisions.
3. Experience records
The experience tracker is a personal planning log. Entries are not verified by us, are not submitted to HSPA, and do not replace official forms, supervisor verification, or other required evidence. You are responsible for accurate entries and for keeping the records required by your employer and certifying organization.
Do not treat the Service as the only copy of an important record. Keep your official experience documentation separately.
4. Access and fees
The free preview includes six practice questions, with no payment card required. Full platform access costs $30 USD per month. Creating an account does not start a subscription or authorize a charge. Starting a paid subscription requires a separate purchase through checkout.
Subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel renewal from Billing; access continues through the paid billing period. Checkout shows the total before you subscribe. Contact support about billing errors or refund requests; any non-waivable consumer rights continue to apply.
The free-question allowance is per person. Browser identifiers and account records help prevent repeated free previews through additional accounts. Clearing browser data does not reset the allowance stored on your existing account.
5. Permitted use and content ownership
While you comply with these terms, you may access the Service and use its materials for your own personal study. We and our licensors retain ownership of the Service and its materials. This permission does not transfer ownership to you.
Except where applicable law permits it or we give written permission, do not republish, sell, commercially distribute, or systematically copy our question bank or other materials. Do not remove ownership notices or present our materials as your own. This restriction does not limit rights you have under applicable copyright exceptions.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service unlawfully, impersonate someone, access another person's account without permission, bypass access controls, introduce malicious code, or interfere with the Service. Do not use automated tools to extract restricted content or overload the Service.
Do not submit patient information, identifiable case details, confidential workplace information, actual confidential exam questions, or content you lack permission to share. Do not use the Service to falsify experience records, violate exam confidentiality, or infringe another person's rights.
7. Information and feedback you provide
You retain any ownership rights you have in the information you submit. You grant us a limited, nonexclusive permission to store, process, and display that information as needed to provide and maintain the Service, subject to the Privacy Notice and applicable law. This permission does not transfer ownership of your records or authorize their unrelated public use.
You may send suggestions or report content errors. We may use voluntary product feedback to improve the Service without an obligation to compensate you. This does not give us a right to publish your personal information.
8. Availability and service limitations
The current question bank has author review and structural checks. Features and content may change, be interrupted, or be withdrawn. The local service does not provide a guaranteed uptime, support response time, or permanent record-storage commitment. Local data may be lost or reset during development.
We aim to describe the Service accurately, but do not warrant that it will always be available, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. To the extent permitted by applicable law, it is provided as available. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty, remedy, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Ending or restricting access
You may stop using the Service at any time. Contact us to request account closure or ask about deletion of your information. Closing an account and deleting records are distinct actions; any retention or deletion remains subject to the Privacy Notice and applicable law.
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address a material violation of these terms, a security risk, unlawful activity, or a legal obligation. We may also end access to the Service. Where reasonably practicable and legally permitted, we will provide notice and explain how to raise a concern. Urgent security or legal issues may require action without advance notice.
When your access ends, your permission to use restricted materials ends. Provisions concerning ownership, responsibilities for prior conduct, and rights that by their nature survive termination continue to apply. Ending access does not remove rights or remedies available under applicable law.
10. Responsibility and your legal rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Service, such as lost business opportunities. This does not exclude responsibility for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and it does not restrict nonwaivable consumer rights.
If you have a concern, contact us so we can try to resolve it. Contacting us is not a prerequisite to exercising a legal right or meeting a legal deadline. These terms do not require arbitration or waive your right to participate in a class action.
11. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the Service changes. Each revision will show its effective date and version. Changes will not apply retroactively to a dispute that arose before the change.
For a material change affecting existing account holders, we will provide notice and obtain renewed agreement where required before applying the change. Posting a new version does not itself record your acceptance. If you do not agree to a proposed change, you may stop using the Service and contact us about closing your account.
12. General terms
These terms govern your use of the Service alongside any additional terms you expressly agree to for a specific offering. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A delay in enforcing a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
Links to third-party websites are provided for reference. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices, and we do not control their content or availability.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Notice explains how information is handled. Acknowledging that notice is separate from agreeing to these terms and does not provide blanket consent for unrelated uses of your information.
