HSPA describes a computer-based multiple-choice exam with 125 scored items and 25 unscored pretest items. The optional 15-minute tutorial is outside the three-hour exam time. You can mark questions for review and change answers during the exam.
Full CRCST certification also requires 400 hours of sterile processing experience. Eligible provisional candidates can submit those hours within six months after passing the exam, under HSPA’s rules. See the hour categories and documentation steps.
HSPA’s November 2023 outline weights the scored content as follows. Use these percentages to distribute practice across the exam, then spend more time on the topics you miss.
